PEST CONTROL

What is a Natural Way to Eliminate Pests in Closets?

Help, we have noticed bugs in our closet. Silver fish, moths and some other sort of cute creepy crawly moving around in the carpet. I do not want to use pest sprays. What can we do?

A great natural way to prevent these types of bugs from evading your closet is to use cedar. There is only one species of cedar that is aromatic and has always been viewed as the wood which is an effective insect repellent and that is Eastern Red Cedar. The oil in cedar is a natural insect repellent. If lining your closet with cedar is out of your budget, consider lining any drawers and shelves with cedar, or you can purchase any number of cedar items such as pre-packaged cedar chips, cedar wood blocks or balls, cedar molding, cedar drawer liners and cedar sachets and place these in your closet area. Cedar oils fade over time so it is best to keep them fresh and dry by using a dehumidifier. You can also deter these little crawlies by keeping your closets clutter free, regularly vacuuming closet floors and storing wool, cashmere and other delicate fabrics in sealed containers or bags.
