Dryer Taking Too Long to Dry?

We just purchased a new Energy Star clothes dryer and the cycle time seems to be longer than our non Energy Star washer. Is there something possibly wrong with the washer?

Contrary to what one would intuitively expect, longer cycle times are required to wash/clean the clothes because the older style washers used more water therefore with the smaller amounts of water longer cycle times are necessary.
